Problem: You find dissonance with being understood by coworkers, employers or employees. We’re often distracted by the objective at hand that we forget how to connect and work smoothly with one another. A lack of understanding of the basic needs of human behavior leads to poor treatment of those around (intentional or otherwise), confusion, disrespect, interpersonal tension, and unmet expectations.
Actionable Solution: At our core, humans feel the need for respect and to be understood or listened to. We need to provide acknowledgment and recognize when it is due for both ourselves and others. Observe your subconscious mind to sense when you’re not providing for the needs for those around you.
Problem: Too many things are going on in your life, it is chaotic, and you’re absolutely stressed out. You’re doing everything you can but you can’t seem to take control.
Actionable Solution: Acceptance is a powerful tool. You must find the peace that you have done the best you can with the information and resources you had on hand. Your self-esteem will grow in a time when you relinquish what’s out of your control.
Problem: We’ve all been in a situation where we believe everyone is on the same page. However, each person interpreted the information slightly differently, and when the time to reconvene, it was apparent that NO one was on the same page. This impacts all relationships as it leads to confusion and possibly even blame. The poor communication directly reflects on the fact that no two people think alike.
Actionable Solution: Create a recurring safe space for parties to comfortably discuss and express their feelings on the topic or project. “On this particular subject, tell me what you’re thinking. Reverse it” The goal is to get on the same page.
Problem: You’ve been working on a project for a long time. When challenged by the project, you realize that you don’t know how much you’ve time or money you’ve spent. You’ve been walking in a general direction but don’t know exactly how far or if was an effective route to take. You haven’t measured your progress and therefore have no idea if any of your attempts were worth it.
Actionable Solution: Build a plan and set measurables. Follow through with the plan after a set duration of time. Go through each measurable to assess progress or made needed adjustments.
Problem: It can be challenging to appreciate how far we’ve come. We often lose sight of the progress made on our way to the results, leaving us feeling depleted and unmotivated.
Actionable Solution: Recognize the completion of tasks, observe when you’ve removed obstacles, and reflect on the happiness or relief from returning to the task, completing the assignment, or removing the obstacle. Our work can seem unending so recognize every win that comes across the way.
